Eataly Is Opening a $106 Million Dollar Food Theme Park in Italy — Travel Bites

November 30th, 2016 by Our Webmaster

    By Ariel Knutson

Six Flags is great and all, but it has nothing on this new theme park. If you get weak in the knees at the sight of fresh pasta, and have an affinity for prosciutto, you better get your passports ready. The people behind Eataly, the mega Italian supermarkets around the world, are opening up a 20-acre complex in Bologna that they’re dubbing “Fico Eataly World.”

November 30th, 2016 by Our Webmaster

    By Susmita Baral

Every year, over 700,000 tons of food are wasted in Denmark, which is why NGO DanChurchAid opened up a grocery store earlier this year selling expired — but safe-to-consume — foods for discounted rates in Copenhagen. The market, called Wefood, is doing so well that a second store has opened its doors for environmentally conscious shoppers.

November 30th, 2016 by Our Webmaster

    By Kelli Foster

Come December, we’d wager every lunch box has a clementine or two tucked inside of them. Alone they are a near-perfect snack, packaged by nature to require no extra containers, and thin-skinned and easy to peel for little hands. When you add an extra ingredient to the mix, clementines become a snack-time superstar. From chocolate to nuts, here’s how to turn your clementines into a winning snack.

7 Fast and Fancy Upgrades for a Snack Board — Snack Your Way Through the Holidays

November 30th, 2016 by Our Webmaster

    By Sheela Prakash

The whole point of a snack board is to keep it extra simple and extra fuss-free, but that doesn’t mean you can’t give yours a little upgrade now and then. Add one or two of these ingredients — they are on the fancier side, but easy enough to find — to your snack board to jazz it up without even trying.

This Is How the White House Does Christmas — Kitchn Goes to Washington

November 29th, 2016 by Our Webmaster

    By Lisa Freedman

There’s only one house cooler than the White House this time of year: the gingerbread house that lives in the White House. Made of 150 pounds of gingerbread, 100 pounds of bread dough, 20 pounds of gum paste, 20 pounds of icing, and 20 pounds of sculpted sugar pieces, it’s a sweet sight to take in.

Of course, the actual White House is a close second, with plenty of festive decorations. This year’s holiday theme, The Gift of Family and Friends, refers to presents (of course) and also the true gifts of life (think: service, friends and family, education, and more). We got a tour earlier today — and now you get to take a look.

The Best Way to Keep Pancakes and Waffles Warm — Brunch Tips from The Kitchn

November 29th, 2016 by Our Webmaster

    By Kelli Foster

Arguably the trickiest part of making big-batch breakfasts of pancakes and waffles is delivering everything to the table at the same time, still warm and just as good as it is right off the griddle. But it’s totally possible, and actually pretty easy to pull off.

It’s that glorious time of year you’ve been waiting for, when crates of snack-friendly clementines are stacked up tall all around the produce section. Instead of just picking up the crate at the top of the pile, here are seven things to check for to ensure you bring home the best box of clementines.

35 Questions We Have After Watching Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life — Food TV

November 29th, 2016 by Our Webmaster

    By Lauren Kodiak

Did you watch the highly anticipated Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life last week? I, for one, am thrilled with the revival; it manages to hold on to the nostalgia of the show while staying current (the sign in Luke’s Diner now says “No Man Buns”).

And while the mini-series does end with one big cliffhanger, I’m not here to talk about that. No, I’ve got a whole other list of (food-related) questions that need answers ASAP.
